Why a medical visa is different

A medical visa is issued on the basis that you are travelling for a specific, documented course of treatment at a named hospital. That means the application depends on documents that only the hospital can produce — which is why an application prepared before a hospital has accepted the case tends to fail.

The sequence that works is:

1. Your case is reviewed. Our medical team reads your diagnosis and reports.
2. A hospital accepts the case and a treatment plan is agreed.
3. The hospital issues a letter of invitation. We obtain this on your behalf.
4. The application is submitted at the relevant embassy with the invitation and your supporting documents.
5. You travel once the visa is issued.

Bringing someone with you

Most patients travelling for serious treatment do not travel alone, and they should not have to. Where a family member is travelling as an attendant, we handle their application alongside yours. Tell us at the enquiry stage how many people will travel, because it affects both the visa work and the quotation.

Documents you will usually need

Requirements vary by embassy and change over time, so treat this as the starting point rather than a definitive list — we will tell you exactly what is required for your route once your case is under way:

• A passport with sufficient remaining validity
• The hospital's letter of invitation, which we obtain
• Your diagnosis and medical reports supporting the need for treatment
• Proof of the relationship for anyone travelling as an attendant
• Photographs meeting the embassy's specification
• Evidence of means to cover the trip

What we do not do

We do not arrange visas for travel that is not medical, and we do not submit applications we believe to be misleading. A refused application makes the next one harder, so it is in nobody's interest to submit a weak one.
